CHRISTMAS MAGIC | NOVEMBER KITS by Morag Cutts

Hi there friends. Have you been enjoying the amazing November kits?  Kimberly and Kim have really excelled themselves with all the lovely designs and gorgeous patterns.  Today, I have a new layout to share with you using the ‘B’ sides of the papers.

When I first looked through the papers for the challenge, I wasn’t sure which were the B sides – do you remember ‘Double-A side records’? Well that is exactly my thoughts on the papers.  So I have chosen the side with smaller patterns and the patterned strip at the bottom.

I do love a little pocket for hidden journaling or ephemera.  I created a fairly simple ‘envelope pocket’  which I have fastened with buttons and string closure.  This template will give you a good idea of how to create one of your own:

The design is easily adapted to suit your own needs.  Just remember to sew on the buttons before sticking down the sides.  Alternatively you could use a magnetic or velcro closure instead.

For the rest of the layout, I’ve used those gorgeous B sides of the papers and stitched around the edges for added detail.  I tucked in one of the chipboard frames from the Main November kit over a handmade tag before adding on a puffy sticker.  Those gorgeous wood veneer cookies (also from the main kit) are so delightful! I added a little puffy dot sticker to the centre of this one.

To balance out the colours, I used the black and white striped paper to make a banner – I love the contrast with the red and mint.  You can see I topped off the banner with some of the beautiful flower die-cuts, leaves and acetate elements.  Don’t they look amazing?!

Finally, the title is a mixture of the puffy stickers from Embellishment Kit together with the Chipboard title from the November Main kit.

I hope that you love the B sides as much as I do and perhaps try out a pocket for one of your pages.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I will take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Let’s hope that 2021 brings us a brighter outlook!
