Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today for Pocket Life + Cardstock Kit only Thursday. The prompt for today is to have a dark background and I immediately knew that I wanted to have the Bazzill cardstock in Juneberry as my background. It’s such a rich and beautiful color and perfect for a Fall layout. I love how my photo and all of the embellishments just pop off the page. For this layout I’m using the October 2020 Hip Kits. If you haven’t picked them up, you can find them here! Here’s my layout:
I started going through the beautiful exclusive Pocket Life cards in the kit and chose specific ones that I could fussy cut icons or words from. I fussy cut the word ‘thankful’ from one to use as my title and I also cut a few floral pieces and a wreath. I put those aside and pulled one of the 3×8 cards to use as a starting point for the design of my layout. These cards don’t have to be just for Pocket Life scrapbooking! They’re perfect for Traveler’s Notebooks, Planners, layering pieces, fussy cutting etc!
To matte my photo, I used the Bazzill cardstock in Beeswax and also layered up a few of the Pocket Life cards underneath each photo. I distressed the edges of each layer to give them a bit more interest.
Once my photos were adhered down to the page, I got to work on embellishing. I created a few different clusters around my photos using the Simple Stories Cozy Days Decorative Brads and Journaling Bits first. They were larger pieces so I got those down and added the smaller embellishments from there. That fox chipboard sticker is so cute!!!
Next, I pulled out those fussy cut pieces from the Pocket Life Cards and started adhering them down. The mushroom cluster was so cute and perfect right at the bottom of my photo. I layered some of the fussy cut florals right under it too.
Then, I adhered the ‘thankful’ cut out and adhered that down. That yellow looks so pretty on top of the blue floral. I also added in a few of the Puffy Gold Hearts from Jen Hadfields The Avenue collection.
Next, I pulled the wreath and banner that I had previously cut and created an even bigger cluster to the right of my photo. I put one of the Puffy Mini Phrase stickers from The Avenue collection right onto the banner. I also popped up leaves and stickers from the Simple Stories Cozy Days Stickerbook and tucked in some of the Simple Stories Brads around the page. Look at all of the different layers and textures in this big embellishment cluster!
Lastly, I added in some white tangled thread and splattered some gold spray around the page as a finishing touch. Doesn’t that gold look beautiful on the Juneberry cardstock? I am loving everything about these October Kits!! The colors in this kit alone are stunning, not to mention all of the gorgeous Fall themed elements! What are your favorites? Mine are definitely the beautiful exclusive Pocket Life cards. They’re so versatile and can be used on any project! I used so many on this layout and I still have a bunch left. Thank you so much for being here and I’ll see you in my next post!
