My assignment today was to create a fabulous background and I wanted to go for something a little different than usual. I created my own stencil using the Loose Leaves cut file. I made the leaves smaller, arranged them in Silhouette Studio to create a pattern and then cut only the outlines. Then I placed my stencil over a piece of Ash cardstock from the Cardstock Kit and using a blending tool added black Distress Oxide from bottom up to the middle of my layout creating a fade-away look.
I wanted the background be fabulous but subtle as my goal was to create a lot of contrast with all the fall colors later. I have backed another cut file “Beautiful Fall” from October 2019 and a couple of the “Loose Leaves” with patterned papers and PL cards from the Main and Pocket Life kits and raised them with craft foam.
It was so much fun to go through all the pretty embellishments and adding all that warm color to the gray background paper. I used a lot of the Pinkfresh Studio Days of Splendor leaves, die cuts and stickers,
the totally cute clittle creatures from Crate Paper Marigold puffy stickers and Jen Hadfield The Avenue stickers.
The Marigold sticker book from the Pocket Life Kit was also a fantastic source of embellishments.
To finish off my layout I used the Pinkfresh Studio Days Of Splendor Enamel Dots from the Pocket Life Kit and some splatters using the “clam bake beige” and “ramblin’ rose pink” Lindy’s Magicals from September Color Kit mixed with white acrylic paint.
And this is my finished layout. I hope it brings you some inspiration. If you’d like to see me creating it I have a process video for you too on my channel!
Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful day, friends!
