PRODUCT FOCUS: PAPERS- CREATE YOUR OWN PAPER FLOWERS by ANDREA LAKE

Hi Friends! I have a new project to share with you today. We were challenged to make our own flowers using patterned papers and cardstock from our kits. I worked with the beautiful September 2020 Hip Kits to create two memorydex cards.

For the first card, I used white cardstock and patterned paper to create a heart-shaped base. I found an April 2019 HKC Rolled Flower cut file and created several 3D flowers. I covered half of a heart with them and used the Marigold chipboard stickers that came in the Embellishment Kit to embellish the rest of the card. On the back side, I used a couple of chipboard stickers as well as one of the Jane Hadfield wooden frames from the embellishment kit as well.

To create the second card, I cut the card shape using one of the Heidi Swapp Memorydex dies twice to create a pocket. I used a layered flower cut file designed by Paige Evans and cut the different layers alternating between patterned papers from the Main Kit and cardstock from the Cardstock kit. I machine stitched around the edges of both, the card and flower to add dimension and interest. I embellished it with a banner sticker for the title. I added three pictures inside the pocket along with my journaling using a couple of PinkFresh Studio tags from the Embellishment Kit.

I have a process video on my YouTube Channel showing you how I put together these memorydex cards. I hope it inspired you to get creative creating and try creating your own flowers to incorporate in your projects.
