Mixed Media Monday Layout & Cut File by Anke

Hello Hip Kit friends, Anke here with you. Welcome to Mixed Media Monday. Today I’m sharing a new mixed media layout made with the gorgeous  August Hip Kits  and two of the  August Subscriber Cut Files .

 

 

I chose the “Cup” and the “Floral Banner” cut files , cut them from white cardstock and then backed them with pieces of the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Awesome Life – Paint the Town, Petal Pushers, Rainbow Sherbet and Oh Bee Hive papers.

 

 

Then I created a watercolor background using orange watercolor and a Vicki Boutin stencil from an older Color Kit. For applying the color I used a small sponge. I also added some dark blue watercolor splatters.

 

 

Once the color was dry I arranged the cup, the banner and my photo. Behind the photo I placed a light blue tag from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Awesome Life – Tag & Label Die Cuts pack which is included in the  August Embellishment Kit.

 

 

Then I embellished the page with some of the Hip Kit Cub Exclusive – Awesome Life – Ephemera and Chipboard Stickers, ( both included in the  August Main Kit ) , some of the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Awesome Life – Puffy Shape Stickers, ( included in the  August Pocket Life Kit ) and some Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Awesome Life – Floral Ephemera (included in the  August Embellishment Kit ).

 

 

I ripped the cardstock on top and at the bottom of the page and backed these parts with pieces of the Paint the Town paper.

 

 

Finally I added some of the Simple Stories – Going Places – Decorative Brads, which you can find in the  August Embellishment Kit  and some of the Echo Park – Summertime – Enamel Dots, which are included in the  August Pocket Life Kit.

 

 

I really love how the layout turned out and I hope you feel inspired to add some mixed media accents to your next project or to use a cut file.
