Mood board Inspired Scrapbook Layout | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share a mood board inspired layout using 2 photos. I will be using the July 2020 kits! You can check out all the July 2020 kits HERE over at the Hip Kit Club website.

I pulled my inspiration from the bottom right photo. I really loved all the strips of color. I pulled papers from the kit so I could create some rainbow strips of paper.

I distressed the edges of all the paper strips to add some texture to my papers. I pulled out some Catherine Pooler Designs ink color to match my strips so I could add some color to my background. I started with the pinks at the top and added some ink to an acrylic block and then added some water. I picked up the ink with some clear packaging and then smooshed onto my white cardstock. I went back in with a paintbrush to add some splatters.

I placed the paper strips onto the white cardstock once it was dry. I placed my 2 photos tucked into the paper strips and began to embellish around the layout. I wanted to create clusters of embellishments that matched some of the strips of pattern papers. I used die cuts and stickers from the kit and also fussy cut some florals from one of the papers included in the July kit.

I love how it all came together and all the color. I hope you will join in and create something inspired by the August mood board! Share your projects with us in the Hip Kit Club Facebook group! Here is a look at my completed layout.
