Hey everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) and I have a new layout and video to share today. You can find the process video at the end of this blog post. I have used the May kits which you can find on the Hip Kit Club website and have chosen two products to focus on: the Stamp Market Ink Pads from the May Color Kit and the tags from the Stamp Market Cut Apart sheet (Main Kit) and from the Stamp Market Ephemera Pack (Pocket Life Kit) – there were lots of tags!
This layout was inspired by a recent class I took with Terhi Koskinen at a GoGo Getaway Retreat. Terhi taught us about colour and had us choose three different colours to use across the layout. I chose the three Stamp Market Ink pad colours: Cherry, Melon and Citrine. I applied these three colours to my layout by using the packaging technique. It is great to be inspired by another scrapbooker. I strongly believe that you can always learn something from someone else, no matter how knowledgable you are on the subject!
Once my colours were dry I then layered the Stamp Market Tags onto the coloured areas in a colour-on-colour fashion. I distressed the edges of course and then I added lots of little embellishments and my photo. I used a lot of stickers from the Amy Tangerine Icon Thickers (Pocket Life Kit). I arranged my stickers and embellishments onto the three colours again in a colour-on-colour fashion.
I finished off with a few splatters by watering down the ink from the three The Stamp Market ink pads and I wrote my journaling into my journaling spot. I also added a title which is from the Phrase Thickers from the May Main Kit. I opted for one word only which I think does the job perfectly!
Here’s another look at the finished layout. I really love how it turned out.
