Hi friends! I’m sharing a colorful DIY project today using the amazing February 2020 Hip Kits. I’ve been having a hard time focusing considering everything that is happening around us and I needed to take a break and think of rainbows and colors to brighten my day. I have to admit that my Hip Kits have been a lifesaver! They’ve allowed me to relax while creating something that brings me joy. And this is the magic of the kits, you don’t need to get out of the house to enjoy them and you can definitely come up with ideas to include the little ones and spread some happiness.
For today’s project, I was asked to work with a Cut file including stitching. I was inspired by the Rainbow Cut file to create my rope rainbow. I needed to make something different this week and thought of this as the perfect project to be displayed in my girl’s room.
Selecting the color yarn I wanted on my rainbow was the first step. Once all the strips were stitched in place, I wanted to add some rolled flowers and I found the perfect Spiral Flowers from April 2019. I know, I went far back but again, this is the beauty of these kits and subscription: You have them all available whenever you want to use them. I used pattern papers from the February Paper Kit and one of the flowers was made with the Jen Hadfield yellow flowers pattern paper from the March 2020 Paper Kit.
I created a cluster on the right side of the rainbow using the rolled flowers, the last one of the Pink fresh studio pockets and Bloom Street flower die cuts from the February embellishment kit.
It all came together magically. I chose two pictures of my daughter from our New Year’s adventures and machine-stitched them to the back of two Bloom Street journaling die cuts. You can find them in the Pocket Life Kit.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to create different projects using your Hip Kits.
Andrea 🙂
