Happy Monday everyone ! Sophie with you ! Today is mixed media Monday and I have a layout to share with you featuring the beautiful Nuvo Embellishment Mousse from the February color kit called Lilac Lavender Shimmering Texture Paste !

 

 

 

I started by directly applying the Mousse on thick white Cardstock, scraping it down with a palette knife.

 

 

 

I created a mask with old washi tape, and applied a very thin coat of textured paste on it. When dried, the textured paste leaves a mat finish to the shimmery look of the mousse, creating tone on tone vertical lines on my background.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I teared a strip of the Pinkfresh Studio Enchanted Blooms patterned paper (February 2020 paper kit) and adhered it to the top left corner of my page. I also put a green Noteworthy enveloppe from the Journaling Bits (February 2020 Embellishment kit) on my teared paper.

 

 

 

 

I punched a scalloped strip of the Bloom Street paper #12 and stitched it down on my page beneath my photo as a base for my embellishments.

 

 

 

 

I fussy cut out of the PF Positive Mindset patterned paper a few potted plants that I sticked down next to a cute little bakery ephemera from the PF ephemera pack (main kit) and put them in a horizontal line on the bottom of my photo.

 

I also cut around one phrase from the Positive Mindset paper “This is the good life” and put adhesive foam to make it pop on my page. I added a few embellishments from the PF ephemera pack, some fussy cut flower and leaves and the Nuvo Crystal Drops everywhere. I think this Nuvo product will be on each and every layouts I’ll be creating for a while !!!

 

Finally, I added a punched paper bow and my journaling. As you can see, the whole design is diagonal, from the top left to the bottom right of the page. I love how it turned out !

 

Here are the close-ups. As you see, mixed media can be quite simple. Did you try to do a mask with washi tape or punched circles or any other shape on your layout ? It really is fun to make and the results are always so interesting ! And on these times of anxiety and worldwide uncertainty, being creative and playing with the gorgeous Hip Kits is a great way to evacuate stress !
