Adjusting a cut file | Christina Buresch-Leyrer

Hello everyone, Christina here! Today, I would like to inspire you to customize the exclusive subscriber cut files to your needs. For example, I have a Silhouette Portrait cutting machine, that can only cut 8,5 x 11″ papers, so sometimes I have to modify cut files a little bit.

But first, let me show you the layout I created for today’s post:

I modify cut files by erasing parts of a cut file I can’t use – it’s really simple, you just click on the eraser on the side bar on the left, and “erase” all the parts you don’t want or can’t use with your cursor.

For today’s layout I chose the wreath from the January 2020 cut files and erased everything except the flowers. Next,  I copied the cut file with copy & paste, and erased everything except the big flower, which I then made a little smaller and copied it as well.

So I got a beautyful arrangement of flowers plus two extra flowers which I then cut, using the “Sea to Sky” paper from the Heidi Swapp “Art Walk” collection included in the February 2020 Main Kit, and backed it up with the dark blue stripe that was left over from cutting, and the “Happy Thoughts” paper from the Pinkfresh Studio “Noteworthy” collection. And then the fun part began: I arranged all kinds of embellishments, both from the February 2020 Main and the Embellishment Kit on top and under them, as well as some fussy cut elements.

I hope I could inspire you to try customizing cut files yourself. Believe me, it’s really easy. If I can do it, you can do it to!

Have a wonderful day!

XOXO

Christina
