Hi friends, Andrea here and I am really excited to have been chosen to be a part of this amazing group of ladies in the Hip Kit Club. My first project uses the February 2020 Hip Kits. I’m working with the “You Add Color to my Life” February Exclusive Cut File. Because this is a farewell gift from a group of us to a coworker and friend, I chose not to journal directly on the page. I also made a bonus project, a card for us all to sign as another keepsake for her using the same cut file.
In order to incorporate more than just one photo in this layout, I transformed the O letters in the cut file into frames, removing the centres. The photos are similar, but each one tells a different story to us.
Instead of using plain cardstock as the background for the cut file, I decided to use side B of Bloom Street Paper 19. This paper makes me think of raindrops or tears. Since we will be saying goodbye to one of the most special co-workers we’ve ever had, I want her to know that we’ll be crying tears of joy remembering every moment we spent together.
To back the layout cut file, I used different patterned papers from the Pinkfresh Studio “Noteworthy” Collection and the Pink Paislee “Bloom Street” Collection. You can find them all in the February main kit and the February paper kit. I love using a lot of color, so to complete the layout I used some colorful puffy stickers and frames. I also incorporated some Bloom Street flowers from the embellishment kit. Nuvo Crystal Drops and white and purple floral clusters from the main kit’s ephemera pack rounded out my decorative choices for this project.
I wanted to showcase the lovely Paige Evans patterned paper I used for the card background, so I chose to back the flower cut file on the card with vellum. I selected Green Bazzil Cardstock as my card base and machined-stitched both the cardstock and the patterned paper with rainbow thread. To embellish the card I layered a Pinkfresh Studio puffy frame and ephemera circled die cut plus the floral cut files and two more Bloom Street ephemera florals. I used the Mini Puffy Alpha stickers to add her name.
For the inside of the card I layered machine-stitched plain cardstock, Bloom Street patterned paper and a piece of the Pinkfresh Studio embellishments packaging grid paper. I chose the Pinkfresh Studio “Remember This” cardstock sticker for the header from the Pocket Life Kit.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to create different projects using your Hip Kits.
Andrea 🙂
