My assignment for this page was to do some mixed media and a grid design.. Well, it didn’t exactly end-up like a formal grid design but you can still see the general idea there !
I wanted to use those lovely selfies of me and my little girl laughing together on the couch on a lazy afternoon, a few frames and flowers from the Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Story collection (Embellishment kit) and of course some of the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Powder Watercolors from the color kit with the Echo Park stencil. Here is a photo of how I started building my page.
So I used a white Cardstock, applied textured paste with a palette knife on the Echo Park stencil and let it dry. Then, I painted and splattered 3 separate areas with the Lindy’s Gang Powder Watercolors. (Plumeria Pink and Merry Go Round Green) diluted with water, and a Distress Oxide ink from my stash for the blue color.
I machine-stitched in a square form with matching thread on top of my three colored areas.
Then, I added a matching color Pocket Life card behind each photo and embellished around them. I backed the two Pinkfresh Studio frames with velum for a soft look.
My title is from the Pinkfresh Studio Puffy Phrase Stickers (Main kit) and the Pinkfresh Studio Super Cool collection White mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers (Pocket Life kit).
I backed my layout with one of the Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Story patterned paper and stitched around the edge of the white cardstock, but the blue border is so thin that I couldn’t get to show it on my main page. You will see it clearly on the close-ups though.
Finally, I wrote down my journaling and the date , and that’s a wrap up !
