Hello Hip Kit Club friends !
It’s Sophie here and I am sharing with you a lovely layout made out of the December 2019 kits ! It features my little girl Sabrina, who stayed relaxed and cozy in her one piece pyjamas on Christmas Eve before getting ready for that magical night.
My assignment today was to incorporate hearts to my page.
As you might have noticed, I tend to go very often with a white or very light colored background for my layouts… Well, not today ! I went for this super beautiful dark blue Crate Paper patterned paper from the December paper kit.
I started by painting some horizontal stripes with acrylic paint and a dry brush directly on my background paper after having first applied clear gesso. I let it dry and added plenty of white splatters with acrylic paint.
Then, I punched and traced by hand many hearts in different sizes on various patterned papers (paper kit), distressed the edges and machine stitched them together in layers.
I placed those layered hearts around my photo. I also added layers of patterned papers and pocket life cards behind my photo for extra texture.
I fussy cut the beautiful white wreath out of a pocket life card, layered it with velum and put it on the top left of my page. I used the Crate Paper Chipboard sticker “Let’s stay in” from the December embellishment kit as my title, cutting under it a layer of white Cardstock with scalloped scissors.
Then, I used so many embellishments as clusters around my layered hearts. The flowers and leaves are from the exclusive HKC So Frosty Winter Florals from the embellishment kit. That cute kitty on the right of my photo is a HKC Exclusive ephemera from the main kit. The circle where I wrote down my journaling is a HKC exclusive sticker from the pocket life kit. I also added a few Prima Marketing Adhesive Gems (main kit) as the final touch.
Here are the close-ups. I am very happy with the end result of this layout. ! Those layered hearts were so easy to do and it gives great dimension to the page. And how about that dark background ?! I should do that more often…! I love how my mixed media pops on it !
I hope you felt inspired by this page ! Thank you dearly for passing by, and I wish you all a great crafty day !
Sophie xx
