Hey HKC fans, it’s Elsie here with my take on this week’s Sketch! I used the October 2019 kits for this layout, which are filled with so much Autumnal goodness!
As soon as I saw this gorgeous sketch by Vicki, I immediately thought of the Pinkfresh Studio ‘Chit Chat’ paper. Not only does this patterned paper have very defined strips of colour and pattern, but much like the sketch it also has some watercolour texture on it. It was like this paper was made for this sketch!

However, I decided to ‘flip the sketch’ (or rotate it 90°!) and place those strips across the top of my layout. There are so many colourful and Autumnal leaf embellishments in these kits, so I decided to embellish with a tone-on-tone technique and place the leaves as if they were cascading down the layout.
I love the different materials these leaf embellishments are made from. The acetate leaves (from the Embellishment Kit) and the vellum leaves (from the Main Kit) create a really textural and unique look on the layout, and they blended in perfectly with my background paper.
To embellish a little more around the photo, I used a some of the HKC exclusive embellishments. Including a speech bubble die-cut (from the Main Kit) which I wrote my journaling on, and the ‘Stay Cozy’ pillow cardstock sticker (also from the Main Kit) which I nestled in next to my photo to work as my title!
