Hi friends! It’s Jung here, and today I’m sharing a mini album that I made with the September 2019 Hip Kits. It’s the first week of October, and I’ve got Halloween costumes on my mind…I decided to make an envelope mini album filled with photos of my girls’ costumes through the years. My girls love to dress up, so we love Halloween! I loved looking through these photos as a result of making this mini.
To start my album, I started off by making envelopes with some of the pattern paper in the kits, as well as the blue cardstock from the Cardstock kit. I wanted my envelopes big enough to use some of the exclusive PL cards for layers, as well as have enough room to embellish, so I decided to make my envelopes 4 x 5 1/2 inches. I used my We R MK punchboard to make the envelopes. I didn’t realize it, but I ended up chosing a black & white and blue color scheme. I wanted another paper to match that color scheme, so I made my own using the Dear Lizzy stamp set. On a piece of white cardstock, I repeatedly stamped the outline floral image with black ink. Once I filled the page, I randomly stamped the coordinating filler floral image on a few of the flowers with light blue ink.
After I made the envelopes, I put together my album by adhering the flap of one envelope into the inside of another envelope. I will try to explain it: on your work surface, place one envelope open side up with the flap up, and the another envelope open side down, and then adhere the flap of the side down envelope to the inside of the side up envelope. I hope that makes sense, LOL!
I loved the way my stamped paper turned out so much, I made it my cover envelope. I fussy cut one of the journaling cards from a Dear Lizzy paper and used it as a layer on the cover. I took a piece of vellum and adhered it to the wreath in the Pretty Little Studio ephemera pack. I decided to add more detail by using the wreath from the Color kit and white texture paste. I used a few more Pretty Little Studio pieces, like the cute little owl and the alpha stickers. A few stamped images using the HKC exclusive stamp set and some puffy stickers, and my cover is done! (Am I the only one who sees a dream catcher?)
For the next pages, I used a lot of the exclusive PL cards to back my photos and write my journaling. I am loving the different sized of PL cards!
I used the HKC exclusive stamp set, and embellished with the Pretty Little Studio die cut ephemera, phrase stickers from Dear Lizzy, and puffy stickers from Paige Evans.
To add interest to my mini album, I added lots of textures: I added stitching, puffy stickers, and enamel shapes. I also added layers and dimension with foam squares.
I really love how the PL cards accentuate my photos. They are a perfect layering piece!
I had so much fun making this mini album. I hope you were inspired by my project, and make your own mini album. Don’t forget to check out the September and October 2019 kits!
