Wise Owl Layout – Main Kit Only

Hey friends! It’s Elsie here again, and I’m sharing a layout that I made with just the September 2019 Main Kit. Here is the layout I created:

My main inspiration for this page was the gorgeous patterned papers. I knew I wanted to create a page using lots of them and I was in the mood to do some paper-piecing!

I was inspired to paper-piece a little owl because of an adorable owl die-cut that’s in the Pretty Little Studio Indian Summer ephemera pack. I also thought the owl would work well with this photo from my brother’s graduation.

I freehand cut the owl from some Dear Lizzy patterned papers, and hand-stitched around it to add more definition and detail.

To go along with this graduation theme, I thought it would fun to create a space where I could add my photo and journalling, in the shape of some ripped notebook paper. To do this I took a piece of white cardstock and lightly penciled in some writing lines, I used a hole punch to create a notebook edge, and I also folded a corner over and ripped the edge of the paper. I love how this turned out!

I fussy-cut some the little post-its from a Dear Lizzy paper, and used some of the Pinkfresh Studio enamel dots to make them look like they were pushpins holding the papers in place. I also used the Dear Lizzy alpha stickers to spell out my title: ‘wise owl’!
