Sketch layout for a little kitty |Cristina Sales

Hi everyone Cristina here today to share with you my newest page made using the Main August kit. As you know Friday is the sketch challenge day, so I made a layout following the sketch created by the lovely Niki Rowland.

I have to confess I love so much the geometric shapes and this sketch is really one of my favorites because all the squares are placed in a symmetric way at the centre of the sheet and each one has the same distance from each other.

To start working I decided to use the patterned paper 6 of the Truly Grateful collection by Paige Taylor Evans because, first it’s pink and this is my favorite color, but also because it has a lovely grid that helps me to adjust all my squares at the same distance from each other.

To add the squares I used the patterned paper 14, by the same Paige’s collection, that already had the squares designed on it. Then I fussy cut the big squares and punched out smaller squares, creating little windows.

To create a 3d effect I decided to add all the little squares over the holes but using different patterns to create contrast.

I started to complete my page decoration creating a composition all around my photos and to add light to them I chose a lovely foiled frame by Pretty Little studio. Leaves and butterflies are from paper 5 by the same Paige’s collection. I cut out the big flower by the cardstock inside the stencils of Vicki Boutin that are found in the color kit.

I completed my title using a puffy stickers and a die-cut by the same collection by Paige Taylor Evans.

I hope this page can inspire you to get crafty, so a big thanks for stopping by and joining me today. Don’t forget to head over to the Hip Kits Member Group on Facebook to join in the weekly sketch, there’s a gift voucher for the Hip Kit shop up for grabs!
