Stencil LOVE !!! | Sophie Delorme

Hello everyone ! It’s Sophie and I have the great pleasure to share with you a layout where the focus is all about mixed media and stencils !

So I started my page by coloring some white textured paste with the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Starburst Powder, using all three colors from the August color kit and mixing some of them to get the orange and purple-pink colors.

I applied that colored paste to one of the Vicki Boutin Wildflower & Honey stencils that came in the same August color kit on white Cardstock, using one after the other the different colors. I let that dry and then fussy cut all the flowers.

Then, I teared a few stripes of patterned paper from the August paper kit, glued them on my layout vertically and added a few stitched lines of different colored threads for more texture and interest.

I added splatters of these same Lindy’s Stamp Gang powders mixed with water.

Then, I started to build my layout. I backed my photo with some Pocket Life cards from the August Pocket Life kit, ruffling up the edges a bit. I placed my Mixed media made flowers all around and added plenty of other flowers and leaves that are from the August main kit and embellishment kit, mostly from the Paige Evans Truly Grateful collection. I added my Title and journaling, and finally punched holes and hand stitched a little swirl for my butterfly.

So here are the close-ups. As you can see, I did not use the stencil in a traditional way directly on my background but instead created my own embellishments with it. It’s a different way, among many others, to use those gorgeous stencils !
