Hello lovely Hip Kit Club Fans!

It’s Terhi Koskinen here, back in the group of talented ladies in Hip Kit Club Design Team and it feels like I’m home again. I feel very lucky to be back in the Hip Kit Club Family and my first assignment was to create a Back to School layout with August 2019 Kits.

Creating a scrapbook layout around this wonderful theme was very inspiring, not only because of the greatest photo of the year (Please note our dog peeking!) but also because all the colors and patterns from the August 2019 Kits went so smoothly together.

The August 2019 Main Kit and August 2019 Pocket Life Kit include a package of Pretty Little Studio die cuts. In the Main kit the die cuts are frames and blooms, some with golden details. In the Pocket Life kit all of the die cuts are black and white, and I thought it would be so much fun to color the white parts!

First I played with the title of my layout, and colored it with yellow ink. There are lots of inks included to our previous Color Kits, some Ranger Oxide Inks for example. For this technique, any inks will do. Gently use a sponge or similar tool to spread the ink smoothly over the die cut piece and that’s it!

For the leaves I used two colors, green and turquoise, to reach more vivid look. Date tag on the right hand side of the photograph has now also yellow color on. The black and white hearts got a lovely blush coat of ink and now all the die cut fits to the patterned papers perfectly!
