Adding color to b&w elements

Hello everyone, Christina here! Last Saturday, my dear friend Ulli (Think Pink & Mint) and I hosted our 0711* Scrapbooking Crop near Stuttgart/ Germany for the 2nd time, and it was so much fun to gather with 22 crazy talented and super sweet Scrapbooking enthusiasts in the cozy atmosphere of Ulli’s parents’ wine bar.

Since I’m not a very productive person when it comes to Crops, Workshops etc., but rather chat, eat, drink and have a look at what the others are creating, I decided to only bring some papers from the Hip Kit Club July 2019 Main Kit and fussy cut some flowers as a basis for the layout I would like to show you today (and which I finished back at home).

So, without further ado, here’s my layout:

I based it on a sketch Ulli created exclusively for our Crop (you can find it on my Instagram), and created a wreath out of my fussy cut flowers.

I was also assigned to add color to the black and white elements in the July Kit, so I pulled out a brush and some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Shimmer Sprays, dipped the brush carefully into the opened bottle, and colorized some fussy cut flowers from the Pinkfresh Studio “One Fine Day” paper.

For my title, I really wanted to use the “Fun” Puffy Phrase Sticker by Pinkfresh Studio, but since it was blue and I wanted a black one, I placed it on a piece of foil and stamped with a black inkpad on it. Once that was dry, I carefully placed it on my layout.

To finish off my layout, I added some bits and pieces like the HKC exclusive sunglass Ephemera, Small Stickers and some Carta Bella Decorative Brads from the Embellishment Kit.

I really hope you like my layout and that I could inspire you to pull out your brushes and colors to add even more color to your layouts – even if it just ends up as a subtle accent like in my layout!
