Cutting Up the Horizon Paper #8 | Christina Buresch

Hello everyone! Christina here. Long time no see. How are you? For today’s layout, I cut up the Horizon Paper #8 from the May 2019 Main Kit. I started focussing on the pink shades, but as the layout came together, I added some pops of color and even cut up some other patterned papers in the same shape (using the ones I had already cut out as a template).

Before I rearranged my stripes on the white cardstock, I added some pink and green shimmer spray splatters (from the March 2019 Color Kit) to the top, the middle and the bottom of the page. Then I glued the stripes on them, some overlapping (as you can see in the close up).

Next, I thought about where to place my photo, and decided to put it in the middle of my page, but more to the right side, so it would still be the main focus of the layout, but allow me to cluster some of the HKC exclusive acetate butterflies from the May 2019 Embellishment Kit to balance the page.

Speaking of the butterflies – aren’t they just gorgeous? I find them so adorable, as you can mix and match and layer them to your liking, combine them with patterned paper (I used some of them as a template on PP and cut them out) or even some fabric bows from the May Main Kit!

To finish of the page, I layered some fussy cut flowers and ephemera from the Main Kit behind my photo, added the “DoNut wOrRy” title and some bits and pieces here and there – and voilà!

That’s it for today, my scrappy friends. Thanks for stopping by!
