Hey there, Niki here today with a new layout for Mixed Media Monday. I’m so pleased that my May kits have arrived and I dived right in to play with them. I have used the May Color Kit on this layout which contains an Echo Park Stencil, and three colours of Lindy’s Magical Shakers.

I used a piece of Marshmallow cardstock for my background. I applied texture paste (Shimmerz Spun Sugar from a past kit) through the stencil onto my background and left it to dry. I then sprinkled on some of the Afternoon Delight Denim colour of Lindy’s Magical Shakers and then I spritzed that with water. WOW!!! The colour just spreads all over the page! I also added in a small amout of the pink colour too, Alpine Ice Rose, in three places.

Once the background was dry I started to build my embellishment cluster. I used cards from the Pocket Life kit, a frame by Crate Paper All Heart collection and I fussy cut stars from one of the papers. I also added a few star stamps.

I’m in love with the fabric bows that were in this months kit and the Crate Paper tassels.

I added a few chipboard pieces, and some bits of ephemera from the exclusive Hip Kit Club pack and finished off with some sequins.
