Hi HKC friends!!  It’s Ashley, and I’m here today share a layout with you, using the amazing April 2019 Kits!  There are always so many fun products in the kits each month!  For this layout, I focused on the Sunburst patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Horizon collection and the HKC Exclusive Acetate Alphas.

I started by cutting a simple heart shape on my Cameo, from the Sunburst paper.  Then I used my scissors to cut along the lines of each different colored section of the heart.  I really wanted the bright colors from the patterned paper to stand out, so I placed the heart on Bazzill White cardstock from the April 2019 Cardstock Kit.  To add interest to the heart, I spaced out each of the sections just a bit and roughed up the edges.

I knew the Acetate Alphas from the April 2019 Main Kit would work great for the title of my layout.  I used some of the Pink letters on the left hand side of the layout, and Blue letters on the right hand side of the layout, to go along with the color theme of the patterned paper.  I didn’t want to secure the Acetate Alphas with adhesive, that would show through.  Instead, I placed them on the layout and secured them with Washi Tape, so I could machine stitch around the heart and through the letters.  Then, I just removed the pieces of Washi Tape.

Next up, for the layout, I placed my photo in the center of the heart…in a heart shape!  And then I started to embellish.  I used a lot of pieces from the Horizon Ephemera pack included in the Main Kit, Horizon stickers from the April 2019 Pocket Life Kit and the Horizon Mixed Floral Die Cuts from the April 2019 Embellishment Kit.  Since the Sunburst patterned paper was already in rainbow order, it made it easy to add my embellishments in the same way, around the heart shape.
