Hi everyone! It’s Elsie back on the blog again, but this time I’ve ventured into the world of mixed media – eek!! I am using the gorgeous March 2019 kits for this layout.

To start my page, I grabbed the Lindy’s Stamp Gang ink sprays (from the Color kit) as well as the Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock (from the cardstock kit) and sprayed the ‘Tiffany Lou’ blue colour straight onto the bottom right corner of my page.

I then spritzed some water over the ink and used a paintbrush to dilute the colour away from the spot where my photo would go. This created a really pretty, soft and hazy look.

The mixed media is very subtle on this page, but it really helps highlight my photo and “set the scene” of my flying kites design. And talking of the kites… they (as well as the clouds) are part of the adorable HKC exclusive April 2019 cut files, which will be available soon!

I backed the kites with a mixture of patterned papers and 3×4 cards from the Pocket Life kit. And of course I had to arrange them in a rainbow order!

Although it’s fun to go a little “crazy” with the mixed media, it’s sometimes nice to keep things simple and quick whilst still getting a little messy! I hope I’ve inspired you to grab your Color Kits and create some fun backgrounds of your own!
