Hello crafty friends, it’s Femke here today, with a Scrapbooking layout! I used the gorgeous February Main Kit , and the challenge of today is to use layers and border punches.
The photo I used is from my grandfather and my mother. My grandfather is 84 years old, but still a physically fit and in my opinion a beautiful man! We went to see him to celebrate my moms birthday, of course, I took some pictures and this is one of my favourites.
I started this layout by trimming down a white cardstock with around 1″ each side. Placed this white cardstock on the flower design paper from Carta Bella and stitched it down with my sewing machine. Then I used some Shimmerz spray ink and some yellow acrylic paint to add some color to my white cardstock. On top of the ink, I added some gesso through a stencil from Heidi Swapp. Stamped some date stamps and used a ruler to add some black lines and circles for some extra interest. After that used a border punch to punch a nice border in the black and white paper of Carta Bella. And then I cut some papers to put behind my photo. And of course, I added some of the die cuts and some of the chipboard figures.
I also cut out some words and those lovely embroidery frames from the journaling cards paper from Carta Bella.
And last but not least I added some black and white splatters. I used acrylic paint with a little water to add them.
I am really happy with my layout, it turned out just like I hoped. I am going to frame it and give it to my grandfather as a gift. I hope he loves it as much as I do!
Thank you so very much for stopping by, hope to inspire you with this layout and can’t wait to see what you are making youself,
