Hello Hip Kit Club family, Shara Crane here to share my heart shaped mini album. I used the February 2019 kits to bring this beauty to life (and a bit of trim here and there for texture).
I am all about layers…I absolutely love adding as many as I can. Sometimes….more like always…I have to remind myself that the project I am working on still has to close so not to go TOO crazy! As you can see in the above photo I was able to go all out because it’s the cover, no need to save room!!!
I love, love, LOVE to use my sewing machine on EVERY project. I can’t live without it. I can’t sew fabric, but I sure can sew paper LOL! Each heart is machine stitched using pink thread. I added the cute little shaker heart using some scrap plastic sleeves from my stash and a few ephemera pieces from the February 2019 Hip Kit Club Project Life Scrapbook Kit.
I also like to use two layers of paper to create a little boarder. If you look at the black and white heart I used Star Mist by Bazzill paper as my bottom layer and Carta Bella Flower Market cardstock as the top layer. Not only does this create a nice border, it also makes the pages more sturdy, adding a nice thick texture to your project.
I had so much fun creating this Mimi Album! I hope you were inspired to create one yourself. If you are a bit intimidated to try something new, don’t be! You can only go forward. Just sit down and break into your HIP KIT. LET’S GET CRAFTY!!!
