Terhi here with our February Mood Board! I’m still having fun with January 2019 Hip Kits and wanted to create another layout using these kits before jumping to February kits.

As you can see, the mood board I’ve created for February is quite full of pinks. But instead of only sticking in with pinks, I picked up the modelling paste/paint pic and also the calming ocean view from the board and started to play with those two in my mind.

First I created the background with January 2019 Color kit and spread modelling paste through a stencil onto the background. Before the paste dried, I added mint green embossing powder on top and heat it – voilá! Love the effect! The modelling paste starts to boil easily, but with gentle heating you can avoid it.

Then I grabbed one of the February cut files – available at Hip Kit Club website – and cut out several butterflies. To bring the calming ocean effect, I thought these layered butterflies could be as beautiful as the sea is. This might sound bit too far-fetched, but I like it.

To get something soft I decided to sew the butterflies together instead of glueing and I love, love, love the result! Just couple of stitches and the layout looks so much softer!

The rest of the creating process was simple: just some paper pieces and embellishments around and that’s it. The butterflies, and the fun textured background are in the main role and that’s enough.
