Mini Album using Pockets | Frau Pony

Celebrate1-vert

Hej Everyone! I’m so happy to share my new Mini Album with you today.

I have been challenged to incorporate pockets and the stamps from the Embellishment Kit to todays project. I created my Mini with the absolutely stunning HKC January 2019 Kits.

Because I didn’t have any pockets for my project, I have built them by myself:

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

Using American Crafts Canary Cardstock, Blush Cardstock and White Cardstock, I have cut one sheet of each Cardstock in 4″ stripes.

As you can see on the picture below:

To begin, i have cut my stripes to 4″x9″.
Using my Scoring Board, i folded the stripes at 5″ in length, which is building the height of the pocket.

To create the flaps, I have scored 1/2″at each side of the stripes. The folds are a perfect guide to cut off all the excess paper that is no more needed – except the flaps, of course!

Before I glued the pockets together, I have sprayed some of the Blue Color Bloom Mist (which came with the January Color Kit) on a piece of plastic and used this puddle as my “ink pad”.

I stamped the bigger cloud from the Shimelle “Head in the Clouds” Clear Stamps several times to the front of the pockets.

I’m totally fine with this messy imprints – i was just aiming for some extra shimmer and interest.

When the color was completely dry, I only had to put some glue to the flaps and fold the pocket together.

My inserts are 2 3/4″x 4 1/2″ – like this they fit perfectly into these pockets.

After that had been done, I started arranging my Mini Album.

I punched holes in each pocket that i could put them together with a bookbinding ring.

For my Cover, I have cut two pieces of the Pinkfresh Studio Cardstock that was backing the Puffy Alphas.
To get a closure for my album, I have simply glued a piece of twine between the two pieces of cardstock that I have glued together to make the cover a bit stronger.

The title is from the Crate Paper – Hooray – Accent Thicker sheet. The HKC Exclusive Flair Button, a golden heart and a fussy cut flower are the embellishment I have added to the title.

To give the bookbinding ring some interest, I have punched a hole into a piece of Ephemera to be able to hang it on the ring – accompanied of a tassel, I have made with some yarn.

I always forget taking pictures when I’m on these big events. That’s why I’m super happy to have at least 5 pictures with wonderful, creative and inspiring people and a hotel-escalator-selfie, to keep in this album.

For the inserts I have used Crate Paper Hooray – Yay Paper and La La Love – Bouquet Paper. I placed a Pinkfresh Tassel bow on each insert to make it easier to pull the inserts out of the pockets.

celebrate7

On each pocket is a Pinkfresh Studio – Joyful Day – Chipboard Frame and a Pinkfresh Studio – Everyday Musings – Layered Heart Embellishment.

The other embellishments are a variation of Pinkfresh Studio – Everyday Musings – Ephemera, pieces from the Pinkfresh Studio – Joyful Day – Chipboard Frames and some fussy cut flowers that were included in the January Printable Kit, which Kim Watson created.

I tried to stay with these three options for my embellishmets since I love this kind of a common thread in Mini Albums.

I love how playful and fresh but still not too busy this Mini Album turned out!
