Hello everyone! Christina here to inspire you with a new layout, using the Hip Kit Club December 2018 Main Kit only. I was challenged to incorporate fussy cutting and stitching on my layout – one is my most favorite thing when it comes to scrapbooking, and one is my least favorite thing to do on a layout. If you’ve been following me for a while, it’s easy to tell which one is which 😉
So I started by fussy cutting some of the poinsettias and also some of the rosehips, because these would match the colour theme I had in mind perfectly. They both are pretty small, but not too small, and give kind of an airy and delicate feeling to the layout. I arranged some in clusters around my photo, and also let some twigs and berries from the poinsettia paper “fall down” on my layot.
As you might know, I love layering and clustering, because it adds so much dimension to a page. Another trick to add some extra dimension to your layouts is distresing papers or ephemera with a pair of scissors and then slightly bend the edges, and also using foam dots to stick your fussy cut elements or ephemera down.
You might also be aware of my struggle with titles on layouts by now, so all I did was using this cute tag, and hey, it says “cup of cheer” which was perfect for my photo, so I think the tag did an excellent job for a title!
For the stitching… well… this is definately something I don’t enjoy. But I didn’t want to skip this part of the challenge, so I went with some teeny tiny stitched green stars. They’re hard to spot on my layout, I know. But for me, when it come to scrapbooking it’s all about the little details, they can really make a difference on your finished layout!
So, that’s it for today, my crafty friends! I hope you enjoyed this blogpost and that I could inspire you to incorporate some fussy cutting and even stitching on your layouts. Or stitching and even fussy cutting 😉
XOXO
Christina
