Hi everyone – can you believe it’s December already? This week, I was challenged to use the November kit to make a holiday layout following the sketch by Audrey Yeager. Confession time – I found the holiday part difficult, that’s for sure, but I hope I achieved it.
I started off by using the three Shimmerz paints in the November colour kit to paint three rectangles on the page and created the other four rectangles using patterned papers from the kit. I also used a photo in the same orientation backed with some project life cards and some vellum from the Heidi Swapp ephemera. The photo is of my niece at Christmas, but it’s not obviously at Christmas. I chose to add a festive title to clarify that it was a holiday photo.
I used some of the fantastic exclusive die cuts and clear phrase stickers to embellish along with some of the Echo Park enamel dots and one of the Jen Hadfield dimensional stickers.
I finished with the gold Thickers title ‘Smile’ and ‘Festive’ with the exclusive HKC alpha. Finally, I added some snowflakes that I cut from vellum using the 12 Days of Giving snowflake cut file just to finish off the festive theme. I hope it gives you some inspiration for your own festive layouts. And if you’d like to see my process, for the very first time you can – check out the video on my YouTube channel here.
Until next time, happy scrapping!
