Moodboard Inspired Layout – November | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey there, it’s Kathleen back with you and today I have a moodboard inspired layout for you. But before I show you my layout, let’s have a look at the moodboard again:

I was especially inspired by those colorful scale tiles, so I decided to use the Whimsical 2×2 Paper Pads (from the October Embellishment Kits) and recreate that look on my page. The great thing is, you don’t even need to cut them, since they already have the perfect size.

All I did was select a few of my favorite patterns and colors from the pad with the patterned papers and arranged them on my layout. For the top and bottom tip of my “diamond shape” I layered two sheets on top of each other.

The light blue striped piece was cut from one of the journaling cards in the October Project Life kit, since I needed a paper that would repeat the aqua color of my photo.

Another part that was inspired by the moodboard is the flowers that I tucked around my photo. I know there are no flowers in the moodboard, but the trees in the top right corner reminded me of all the beautiful flowers in the Whimsical embellishments!

To be able to add my journaling, I didn’t use any patterned paper for the right tip of the diamond. Instead, I traced the shape with a pencil, wrote my journaling inside and finally stitched a frame around it.

The cute little clouds I added around my layout were also inspired by the moodboard. When I saw them on the Whimsical cardstock sticker sheet (in the October Main Kit), I knew they would be perfect!

Finally I trimmed down the white cardstock a little bit and added a frame with Paper 5 from the Whimsical collection. For some final touches I also added some more machine stitching and a little bit of paint splatters.

I’m very happy with how this layout turned out and I hope you feel inspired to work with the November moodboard, too! 🙂

Thanks a lot for stopping by!

Kathleen
