Hand-stitched critters and fussy-cut flowers – Lisa Fonseca

Hi scrappy people!

It’s Lisa back on the blog and today I’m sharing a super cute page I made using the wonderful August kits. I love all the whimsical products included in the kits and absolutely wanted to use those Maggie Holmes fringe embellishments. I had the idea to use them as little skirts and as I really like creating these paper-pieced and hand-stitched critters, I wanted to make some kitties with little skirts 🙂

So to start, I draw some cats, hand-stitched them with black thread, cut them out and used the Crepe Paper Fringe (Embellishment kit) to make some skirts. I also used tiny heart stickers from the Maggie Holmes Waterfall Stickers (Main kit) to use as cheeks, the faux leather bows from Amy Tangerine (Project Life kit) for the heads and tiny puffy stickers from the Maggie Holmes collection (Main kit) to decorate the cats’ skirts. So cute!!! 🙂

I matted my picture on some exclusive project life cards (Project Life kit) and added some little embellishments, like a piece of the ephemera pack (Main kit), later on, when the picture was already glued down.

Since the little cats and my picture where in the centre of the page, the top and bottom seemed a bit naked. So I used three kinds of scalloped pieces from the patterned papers (Main kit) (Paper kit). Two of them I cut out by following the design on the paper and for the pink ones, I used my scallop punch. I placed three of them on the top of my page, overlapping them and the second pink one, I placed on the bottom of the page.

Then I fussy-cut out a bunch of flowers from the Maggie Holmes floral paper and placed them all around the page. I love flowers on my pages, it makes them look so fun and full of color. 🙂

I placed some Mini Inflated Hearts from Amy Tangerine (Embellishment kit) on my page and the thickers (Main kit) I used to write my title are also from Amy Tan.

To finish I splattered some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine (from previous color kit) on my page.

I really hope you like it and are inspired to create some kind of little cuties 🙂

Thank you for being here!
