The colors, patterns and images in the August kit have a warm, almost antique-like feel to them and I thought it would match the story I had to tell perfectly.
I began with the scalloped patterned paper background and doodled around the scallops with white and black pens. I then cut some doilies from white cardstock using a metal die that I had. Doilies just remind me of “grandma”. I stitched around some holes in the doily with some lavender embroidery thread for some more texture.

Next, I embellished with some chipboard, fussy cut papers, and stickers in clusters around the photo and bottom left corner of the page.
Finally, I added a few splatters of pink and gold mist, my journaling, and date.
