Creative prompt: Use a recipe by Kim Watson

Who likes working with creative prompts? I do actually…I have found over the years of working in this industry, that some of my best work has been the result of a tight brief (and no I’m not talking about my underwear LOL- couldn’t resist that 😂 )

So how about today we work with a specific creative prompt: A Recipe.

Let’s create something ‘yummy’ with the following ingredients:

x1 Flair
x2 Photos
x3 Tags
x4 Patterns
x5 Die cuts
x6 Puffies

A ‘twist’ of lemon, dash of blue, then stir in a little fizz for sweet results.

Initially I really got into the ‘sticking’ to the recipe but realised afterwards that I might have stretched the boundaries a little haha. Either way the recipe was the starting point & gave me clear design direction which is fabulous, especially when you are at the 20 minute mark of staring at your craft table filled with lovely products & you don’t know where to begin.

Layers of lovely layers raised with extra foam adhesive for dimension…YUM! The machine stitching is a great way to add subtle texture teamed with coordinating Shimmerz products.

Die cuts & puffies…are always a delicious combination & the vertical placement of the journaling further supports the vertical page design. Look at the pleasure on his little  face…although I totally understand why, that ice cream shop is one in a million 😀

Another close up of the details. The soft color palette with the gold & black accents is definitely a recipe for success.
