Hello! Thanks for stopping by the blog to check out my layout! My assignment this week was to use mixed media + a cut file. Two of my favorite things! I chose the super fun glasses in one of the May 2018 Cut Files and made it bigger before I cut it. I got out the May 2018 Color Kit featuring the Vicki Boutin stamps and paints and got busy!

I did simple swipes of 3 colors of paint with a big brush and let the background dry. I love that the paint marks show, definitely adds lots of texture! While the paint was drying I stamped circles from the stamp set. I used round punches to punch out the circles and realized I loved the papers that were left over so I kept those to use on my layout.

I painted the glasses with black paint and then backed the “lenses” with vellum. Super cute how the layers below still show through the glasses! I layered my punched circles with messy black thread and then started to adhere everything to the background.

I mixed in a few items from the Simple Stories chipboard sheet and added a few yellow enamel dots and called it done!
