It’s Sketch Friday peeps…one of my most fave times of the week! This week our sketch is from Michelle Werdetz, isn’t it fabulous!!
Today there is a twist…we have been asked to “Flip The Sketch”…this is my take 😀
I flipped & rotated the sketch with super results. I love how the title is now at the bottom of the page leaving the top edge for journaling. So…..with that in mind & the gorgeous April kits, I put together a page to celebrate his 14th birthday.
The beauty of the sketch is the little squares can be interpreted into paper squares, frames, accents, stickers…anything. Stickers & chipboard sentiments positioned horizontally, draw ones attention to the centrally positioned photo.
I raised the different layers with varying heights of foam for accentuated dimension. Black machine stitching adds drama & texture!
Here is a close up of the stitching. Black on green & yellow…YUM!Black accents act as anchors within the design. If you are curious about the alphas I used for my ‘BIRTHDAY NO.’ they are in fact the pink ombre ones included in the April kits. Using a permanent marker I recolored them black. Ta-daaaa!
Ha! My hand recoloring the alphas, in case you didn’t already realise LOL!
So as you can see, using a sketch is a fabulous way to jumpstart your design process. Be sure to stop by our member page on FB & join in the weekly Sketch Contest fun for a chance to win a store voucher.
Be sure to stop in tomorrow for more inspo from our awesome DT!
Where do we see the sketch? Great layout!
My mistake – I saw it in a follow up FB post. I thought I was missing something on your blog post. Thanks.
