Mixed Media Monday with Jessica, Orange Gearle and Ashley

Wahooo! Time for yet another mixed media Monday! Are you looking forward to these days? We certainly are! Check out what Jessica, Orange Gearle, and Ashley have created for today:

Maaaaybe you have seen that I went absolutely crazy with colors on my last couple of layouts. That’s because I was (and am) so stressed from all the university chores that exploding with colors seemed to be somewhat a therapy. Color therapy. I like that. But for now, I wanted to do a bit more suble mixed media. Not everyone is into color explosions so that’s why I’m sharing this with those who prefer a little bit of color over a lot:

I loved the houses paper that we get in the additional paper add-on. If you’re not sure about all the add ons, you can definitely get this one for little money AND it will sometimes include papers that are not included in the main kit. There’s this German saying of ‘um die Häuser ziehen’ which means something like ‘going around the houses’. That stands for going out, partying, having fun. And this is just a picture of me and my best friend of one of those days when we went around the houses. Lol.

I used some of those absolutely awesome exclusive flower die cuts from the main kit to make the houses more interesting and fun! And looooook at that cute raccooooooon!

There were some empty spots in between, so that’s why I added the arrows from the Vicki Boutin watercolor sticker pack.

I really hope you enjoyed my inspiration! Check out what the other girls have created,

Orange Gearle:

Hi there! I am working with the February kits today. I started with some Bazzill Marshmallow Card Stock from the Card Stock kit for a thick, smooth white background. I added a bit of water to my background first and then started applying color! I used the packaging technique by adding water to the Lemon Heavy Bodied acrylic paint included in the Color Kit.  Then, I continued with the other colors. Here is my project:

Once that was good and dry I did some embossing — and I used the stencil also included in the Color Kit this month.

The rest was just embellishments and a title! I did make a process video if that’s something that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by — Ashley is up next!

XO o.g.

Hey y’all!

I have a quick and easy mixed media layout for you all. Most of you probably know that I’m not much of a Mixed Media person, but I tried my very best. 🙂 Here’s what I came up with.

I used TONS of elements from past kits, including the Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces from our December kits, along with Vicki Boutin paints from many kits ago.

I simply swiped some paint across the page to create a stroke, added my picture and some ephemera, and finished it off with a title. I love the way it came out and I hope you do too.

This is my last project with the Hip Kits! I’ve sure had a blast and I’m so thankful for all of your support!
