Hello and welcome to be inspired with Terhi, Jana and Elsie. It’s time for Mixed Media Monday and the girls are here to show their gorgeous projects!
Terhi
Hey, Terhi Koskinen here with my layout featuring December 2017 Hip Kits. The focus for the layout, in addition to the photograph of course, is the gorgeous pom-pom frames from Crate Paper. All the pretty blooms and flower ephemera are next to photograph creating a big cluster. Colors on the background are made with watercolors, hope you feel inspired!
Thank you for stopping here today and take a look for Jana’s and Elsie’s projects!

Hey y’all! I am happy to be bringing a mixed media-ish Project Life spread for you all. I used several of the Vicki Boutin Stickers from our Main Kit and added color with both Prima watercolors and Vicki Boutin crayons. I used lots of the HKC Exclsuive Project Life cards as well! Oh, and can I talk about how much I love those exclusive floral die cuts designed by Kim Watson! They are beautiful!
I hope y’all love how this turned out!
XOXO
Ashley
Jana
Hi everyone, Jana here with a fun rainbow mixed media Layout. I used the December 2017 Kits for this Project, and a lot of Shimmerz Paints from previous Color Kits…
I was totally inspired by one of Irit´s exclusive Papers and went a bit crazy on my Background… but i am SO in love with how it turned out
The cute photo is from hubby and little one when he was just a few weeks old… isn´t he the cutest?!
I added some Gesso on my cardstock because i knew i wanted to add some colors to it. First i wanted to go with a white paper but i really like that i didn´t! The matching Elements are from Crate Paper and Vicki Boutin – and it´s awesome that everything is working so well together, right?!
i am seriously in love!
here is my process Video for you to watch
now, let´s have a look at Elsie´s awesome Layout
Elsie
Hey everyone! How awesome are the other girl’s projects?! For today’s post I decided to keep my mixed media clean and controlled.
I firstly started by mixing together the Shimmerz paste-eez and Berry Hot paint (from the December 2017 Colour Kit) to create a really sparkly texture paste! I then used a palette knife to scrape the colour onto a scrap piece of cardstock and left that to dry.
Once it was dry I used it to back my large floral cut file. This adds so much cool texture and colour variation, but in a really clean and manageable way.
To add some texture onto my background, I used the Crate Paper stamp set from the Project Life kit. I scattered a mixture of the sentiments haphazardly around the page and embossed them with some gold embossing powder. This is a super simple technique, but I love the sparkle it adds to my layout!
