Mixed Media Monday with Kim, Lorilei, and Audrey

Hello friends!  Today Kim, Audrey and Lorilei are sharing their inspired designs using our very own Irit Landgraf’s paper designed exclusively for Hip Kit Club as our jumping off point!

Kim

I had a blast making this mixed media page using the dark navy blue cardstock included in the December 2017 Paper Add-on kit! The effect is awesome!

Bold swipes of white acrylic paint were my starting point, after which I mixed Pink Creamez with gel gesso and using the pretty floral stencil from the December 2017 Color kit, added some gorgeous texture. Darker pink splatter adds a little more depth to the color mix. Ephemera from the Vicki Boutin pack found in the December 2017 Embellishment Kit were perfect for layering, different heights of foam adhesive tape really adds dimension. A combination of Vicki Boutin glossy sentiment stickers and gold alphas create a cute title with journaling written in white pen which shows up really well on the dark background. Torn paper edges give the page a lovely artisan feel, the perfect trim for a layered mixed media inspired page.

I will be posting my Process Video during the course of today, so watch this space and my challen for details 😀

I got busy and painted some watercolor paper that we received in the October 2017 Color Kit with watercolor paints and sprays that matched Irit’s papers.  I then roughly cut circles from the paper and layered them up to make flowers. The button centers are enamel dots from the Vicki Boutin Finishing Embellishments in the December 2017 Main Hip Kit.  I adhered the flowers to a 6×12 2″ deep canvas that I painted white and black, the perfect final touch was the Good Vibes chipboard word and hashtag tab for the December 2017 Embellishment Kit!

Hey there!  When you have papers that already have an amazing mixed media look to them, there isn’t much more you have to do to make it look like an entire mixed media page!  I used the clouds cut file from the HKC store from last May and backed it with different bits of Irit’s papers.  I also used her light blue soild watercolor paper for the background.  I used a few splatters of Shimmerz mists from this month’s color kit and also a few white splatters of white ink from my stash!  Some stitching, phrase stickers, and birdies complete the page!
