Sketch Friday with Corrie and Jessica

Hey there Hip Kit peeps! It’s Friday which means it is SKETCH DAY! You can join in with our challenge on the Hip Kit Member Forum on Facebook and have a chance to win a sweet store voucher! Or you can just play along at home. Either way, we hope you join us!

Corrie & Jessica are here today with their takes on this sketch. And here is this week’s sketch.

Hey there! I love sketch Friday. Starting with a sketch is always so much fun for me and I really love this one. I decided to start with on of Irit’s BEAUTIFUL papers that are included with the December Main Kit.

The paper was pretty much embellished for me!!!  I added blue stitching, some black India ink, some white acrylic ink and some blue Shimmers (from the December Color Kit) to the background and then added layers under my photo.

For a little bit of texture I did add stitching to some of the flowers.

My journaling is in pencil. I wanted it to be softer than black so it would blend into the background a bit.

I hope you enjoyed this! And I really hope you play along!!

Hey guys! It’s me again! I really loved the sketch for today. I admit that I’m always a bit hesitant when it comes to sketches, but I started to really ENJOY working with them! They just help us with our own design, you don’t even have to stick to them 100%. Just a loose interpretation will do, that’s what I’m showing here:

For the sketch we had to include a cut file. I used Elsie’s confetti cut file as a stencil! I really like the texture it gives. Just try out several cut files as stencils for once, you’d be surprised how far you can take your designs with that!

This Crate Paper Good Vibes chipboard piece is life. I’m serious. In case you’re wondering: I used a mixture of the december color kit along with other mixed media products from my stash. Just combine them – they all have unique properties! That’s why I need and want all sorts of mixed media supplies lol.

thanks for joining us today!
