Using the exact layout of the sketch, I interpreted the bottom layer as fun yellow & magenta acrylic paint from Shimmerz Paints. On the graphic black & white patterned paper, it made the perfect grounding for the rest of the design. Look how well it coordinates with one of Irit’s watercolor papers.
The mixture of Vicki Boutin & Crate paper ephemera and chipboard, resulted in bright, festive layers. all raised with different heights of foam adhesive for dimension.
A tag slipped underneath the photo with the tiny puffy alphas for journaling, was the perfect accent for the bottom right corner.
Puffy sticker stars & sentiment made an eye catching arrangement.

Hey everyone! I took Irit’s sketch and scaled it down a bit, and it started to take on a life of it’s own.
I began with the bright watercolor paper designed by Irit and layered some striped papers behind.
The pom pom trim frames brought color, texture, and a whimsical focal point to my photo and title. The phrase “New Year’s Eve” was actually fussy cut from one of the pocket cards from the Project Life kit.
I also used one of the cut files this month as a stencil for some misting in the background.
Be sure to stop by the forum and join in for this weeks sketch!
