A Soft, Minimal Travelers Notebook Spread

Not every notebook spread needs layers of mixed media to look finished. Marinette kept this one quiet – light neutrals, a single black-and-white photo, and just enough embellishment to fill the space without crowding it. The result is a travelers notebook page that feels calm and intentional.

Hello HipKit fans, Marinette here today to share a new Traveler’s NotebOok spread created with October kits.

I chose to play with a light and soft color palette. As you can see I worked horizontally with my TN journal. So I started by usingĀ  this grey PL card designed by Kim Watson. And from then layered some patterned paper and glued my black and white photo on it.

I do the same on the top page : I layered some patterned paper and also some PL journaling cards. As you can see I used some PinkFresh Studio packaging as my base. The next step is to use some various embellishments from the kits. So I used a PinkFresh Studio layered stitched tag as well as layered stitched heart. It’s a very simple process.

How Marinette Built This Notebook Spread

  • She worked with the notebook positioned horizontally, which changes how you think about photo placement and paper balance.
  • PinkFresh Studio packaging became a base layer here – kit packaging often has better graphics than some patterned paper.
  • Layered stitched tags and stitched hearts add just enough texture without pulling attention from the photo.
  • A grey cardstock piece designed by Kim Watson brought structure to the soft palette and gave the eye a landing spot.
  • The whole spread uses basic layering and placement. No advanced techniques needed – just thoughtful arrangement of coordinated supplies.
