Hi everyone!
How are you all doing and what have you been up to crafty wise?! Any fun projects to share?!
I have and my page features lots of amazing cut files you can get on the Hip Kit page if you have an account there 😉
If you don’t have an an account you can create one here
My focus today is cut files – I used the ice cream one by Kim and those adorable branches by Zinia! I can’t get enough of them!
I wanted my main focus be the ice cream and so I enlarged the cut file and then backed it with one of Irits watercolor papers. For added detail I stitched the entire outline and those small waffle squares – what even are those called?! They are delish, that’s for sure ;D
I also cut a circle into the middle of my page to make room for a shaker window/ pocket and cut a small outlined circle out of patterned paper to make it look neat.I created my shaker bits using a basic hole punch and went to town punching all those tiny circles out of patterned papers from the kit. I filled them into a pocket I made out of vellum and secured it by sewing around the edge.
Now because I am not really great in sewing circles, I decided to stitch my pocket together with the remaining page to really secure it – plus it pulls back the hand stitching from the ice cream.
After that was done I simply layered my ice cream cut on top of the circle and then stuck those branches around the cone and my picture 😉
Those exclusive wood veneer words and shapes are the perfect finishing touch and add a fun design element!
Happy crafting!
xo, Laureen
