Sketch time with Michelle

Hi, Hip Kit Fans!  This month we are doing it a bit different and one design team member is creating a layout based on the weekly sketch and showcasing it on the blog!   Today it is my turn and this is my layout featuring the gorgeous July 2017 Hip Kits:

This is the sketch it is based on designed by the talented Zinia:

I really enjoy creating layouts with a vertical design so I was super excited to be assigned this sketch.  The first thing I did when the July kits arrived on my doorstep was to literally drool over the papers designed by Irit Landgraf.  How amazingly talented is she!!! This layout was a perfect opportunity to layer patterned papers and I started off with the ‘Lily’ paper which is just a stunning watercolour design and really just works so well with all the embellishments in this months kits.  I altered the sketch up a slightly by adding my photo to the top of the vertical design rather than the bottom but mostly kept it true to the design of sketch.

The large pink flower and the yellow heart from the Amy Tangerine  die cut shapes from the July 2017 Main  Kit were a perfect element to include  for the shapes  at the top  left and bottom right of the vertical design.    I also cut out a flower from one of the tags  in the July 2017 Color Kit to add as a layering piece as well.   Next I mat my photo in the Paige Evans No 12 patterned paper and added in the XOXO piece cut out of the Daily Details patterned paper by Bella Bvld.

I finished off my design by adding in some fun embellishments from the exclusive Chipboard pieces and Epoxy stickers in and around my photo, I fussy cut out some of the strips from one of the project life cards which stated ‘family time’ and ‘chillin out’ to add as some of the journaling strips and then added more journaling on the circle die cut underneath.

I hope you have enjoyed my interpretation of this weeks sketch as much as I have enjoyed creating it.  I hope you play along with us and share it on the Facebook forum we would love to see it.
