Hello everyone! It’s Zinia here to share with you some fun projects I created with the beautiful and colorful June 2017 kits.
My assignment for today is to create a graphic inspired page and use ephemera. I knew exactly what I wanted to do from the very first moment. I really loved the title die-cut pieces from the Dream On collection that came in the June 2017 Embellishment kit. They reminded me of word art on posters so it felt like the perfect item to use for this assignment.
I decided to use both of them at the base of my photo and from there I just started building up my design without any specific plan. It was a very intuitive process but I definitely had a lot of fun. I picked items in pastel shades of pink and teal for this page with some bright accents of yellow and blue.
I used embellishments from both the Main kit and the Project Life kit as well as some papers to cut out some extra leaves with my favorite dies.
When I was about to finish the page I decided to consider those die-cut title pieces as my journaling and use a title from the Oasis sticker sheet that came in the Embellishment kit. I felt that the black font poped up beautifully and was a bit more eye catching on the final page.
In addition to this scrapbook layout, I wanted to share with you some pages from my traveler’s notebook. This month I’m working on a minibook for two of our cats.
This is a rather sentimental minibook cause these two cats were inseparable brother and sister. They grew up together and I have a ton of photos with them cuddling on all sorts of different places together. Unfortunately our little girl got sick and we lost her. I’ve been wanting to make this album for a while now but it is a hard process (I’m sure those of you with pets can relate).
I started with a photo of their parents and some shots from their very first days as tiny kittens.
I love how there are some softer colors on some bits of these kits to match some of their older photos.
The whimsical elements from the Dream on ephemera were also great for this project.
I really hope you enjoyed them and you got inspired to create something with your kits. Make sure to stop by the HKC Facebook page and the HKC Member Forum for even more inspiration.
Until next time, happy scrapping🙂
