Good morning! Nicole here this morning to share a project I created with the May Hip Kits and color kit add on!
Normally, I am not a huge mixed media person. Truth is, it really intimidates me! I love the look of watercolors and when I saw them in the add on for May, I quickly snagged them up.
I created this page with just some cardstock, the Prima Watercolors and some embellishments from the Main and Embellishment Add on. I started with some simple circles from white cardstock in the kit and watercolored it with various colors from the palette.
Once the circles were dry, I stitched the edges and then cut them in half and mixed up the colors of the cut circles and arranged them on my page. I tried to mix up the color all over the page as best as I could.
I added some faux stitching around the outside of each circle with a sewing pattern tracer and my ink pad. The rest of the page came together quite quickly with some embellishments from the kits this month.
How pretty are those colors from the watercolor palette! they really do scream summer.
I found watercoloring the circles helped me be less afraid of messing up the mixed media look – it was more controlled in a smaller area and less intimidating to work with the smaller size!

I hope you are inspired to crack out your color kit add on and get a little messy with watercolors too!
