Interactive layout and project life /Felicity Wilson

Hello. Felicity back here today with a fun interactive layout using the March 2017 kit. Tell me one thing you love about your layouts or other people layouts?

Is it creating texture on your pages?

Is it reaching out to the computer screen hoping you can just touch that layout?  Tell me we have all done that!! LOL

Being able to tell a story with the papers that reflect your photo?

Is it that awesome feeling when you finish a page and think, WOW, I did that? I made that?

For me its a yes to all those questions. This page is no exception.

I wanted to create something interactive. I had the packaging laying on my table from the Dear Lizzy flags that come in the embellishment kit. It gave me the idea of creating a little flap over the photo to add a little interaction. I thought it would be fun, in the sense, when this page is in the 12 x 12 album that you come across this page and get to interact. Am I making sense?

So I started out with the Shimmerz Paste-eez and the stencil from the colour kit. I then started building up layers with my photo and lots of 3D foam dots to add dimension. I fussy cut more those adorable houses from Dear Lizzy paper add them in. I wanted this reflect the photo of being home and lazing about in bed.

Then I created my little flap. I kept the embellishments minimal because I wanted to see the photo peeking out. There are so many nice sentiments from Pink fresh in the project life kit, so I add those as part of my journalling on the page.

To adhere the flap I used 3D foam dot and an exclusive enamel dot to cover up the 3D foam dot.

Lastly I created small cluster at the bottom to make the layout flow and for balance.

Hope this inspires you to try something different with your layouts and your kit.

Just wanting to share with you  a project life page using the March 2017 Project life kit from Hip kits.

When there is a lot of colour in your photos and you don’t want to change the photo to black and white, try and add some neutral colours to your page, like I have done with  the White Project Life card.

This just ‘tones’ the page a little and not be so overwhelming.

How cute are the embellishments in the kit? Those Pink fresh puffy stickers and ephemera pack from Shimelle. They would suit any theme Project life themed page.
