Have you thought about going green?  Today, I am here to show you just how easy it is to use green on your layouts!  The focus of my layout was to highlight a particular colour.  The March 2017 kits are so full of lots of different colours but one of my favourite colours to work with is ‘greens’.  From aquas, to mints to forest greens there are so many different options in the March 2017 kits that you can use.

When I am creating a layout with just one main colour focus, I start off by finding all the little bits and pieces that are in that colour theme.  So I started looking through the 2017 March kits and picking up all the green papers and embellishments that I thought would work on my layout.

First off, I was drawn to the the Paige Evans no 24 patterned paper as those little squares are just begging to be fussy cut out.  I loved all the different designs on each of the little squares but because they are all the same colour it doesn’t make my layout too busy or over the top.  The squares and my smaller photos really started me off on a grid style design which really allowed me to add lots of fun embellishing touches too.

Once I got my general design laid out on my cardstock it was really about embellishing those little squares and creating interest and dimension. I have used a couple of project life cards from the March 2017 Project Life Kit on my page, I have mat my photos of my girls on one of the mint ones, added the MARCH word to the side of it and also cut out the triangle that sits at the bottom right hand side of my page. The ‘Sweet’ word on the Shimelle Little By Little patterned paper just fit my title perfectly.

The squares on my grid design created their own little areas for me to add embellishments to and there was lots of opportunities to add detail with all the embellishments in the kits.   I finished off with some black elements which I felt helped tie in my black and white photos and some of the gorgeous HKC exclusive enamel dots.
