Patterned Paper Fun | Laureen Wagener

Hi Hip kit friends!

Today it’s Laureen with you and I am sharing a new project I made with the beautiful March kits.

Now let me talk to you about my task – I was asked to create a project using patterned papers only. When I saw that, I thought Kim was joking around – because Laureen without a white background is kind of impossible. But she really was serious and completely challenged me and absolutely made me jump – bungee jump out of my comfort zone.

But in the end I managed a layout – I kind of cheated because I used a huge photo and so I didn’t need a whole lot of patterned paper but it still looks so different to what I’m used to.

I began by layering two Dear Lizzy papers on top of each other and tear the edge for added texture and dimension and also fuzzy cut a lot of the florals from the Dear Lizzy floral paper.

I layered the florals in between the layers and especially to cover up the border between my photo and the first patterned paper.

Now my embellishing was difficult – my page already looked so super busy with all the patternes and colors going on, that I just added my title and sew it down onto my photo and used one of the flag/ sing/ banner things that are super pretty!

Let’s not forget about the beautiful exclsuive badges – LOVE THEM! Can we have more pretty please?!

That’s it for my layout – which is very different and a big challenge! But in the end I “survived” and created a layout. Why not try something totally out of your comfort zone for your crafting this week? 😉

Have a great week –

Laureen
