Thursday Inspiration with Cara Vincens, Laureen Wagener and Zinia Amoiridou

Hi Hip Kit fans! It’s Thursday day again, so that means we’re back with another new 3-Way Challenge! If you missed last week, you can check it out HERE. Each Thursday, 3 design team members will be given a product, kit or idea to create with. We’ll post them here to inspire you with 3 different ways to use the same thing. Hopefully, you can come up with even more ideas.

This week, it’s Cara, Laureen and Zinia and we are using Thickers from the February kits!

Cara is up first:

I went with the aqua ombré letters… so so pretty! I love using fonts that are more or less symmetrical to make ‘TODAY’ bookmarks or dashboards in my planner. All 5 letters in the word ‘today’ are symmetrical so that means I can back them with a second letter sticker, which allows me to use Thickers on my transparent dashboards and have the backs looking almost as pretty as the fronts.

YADOT? sure, why not 😉

I’ve also added a to-do list to the dashboard. Since I used the transparency from the front of the sticker book by Paige Evans, it is fantastic for dry-erase markers! You can re-use this list every day!!

Here’s a peek at this week in my planner as well.

This video walks you through how I decorated this week in my planner and then the dashboard at the end.

Here is Laureen’s take on the challenge:

We are all loving the aqua ombré Thickers, right?! But they are just too beautiful to pass on them.
Now for my project I went with a classic layout – my favorite type of project to create! If you know my way of scrapbooking, you may have noticed that I am a huge fan of larger titles and I created many many layouts using a combination of different products to form my title. For this layout I decided to just use the one font to spread my title across the page.

As you can see I created a cluster at the top and the bottom and spread my title.
The main part is arranged at the top in the shape of the circle – I chose the quote “You and I are more than friends” for the cluster at the top.

To finish up the title I used the blue Thickers again to create a “complete” look. I didn’t have enough Thickers to spell out the entire title, so I just wrote a part in a black pen.

Here you can see the curve in the title – this creates a dynamic look and movement in your design.

And who doesn’t love a good close- up shot?! I just love the Fringe butterflies that come in the kits so much, I definetly had to use one in a small cluster around my photo.IMG_3190

Zinia is going to finish us up with her Thickers project:

To incorporate thickers in my project I decided to use them to write small messages on my gift boxes. I think thickers and letter stickers are mostly popular among scrapbookers but you can really use them in any form of paper crafts.

I really love all the different fonts we got in the February kits so I used them all! I made my first box from a sheet of Fountain cardstock and decorated it with a doily and a couple butterflies. I used the Pink Paislee “Oh my Heart” thickers that came in the February Project Life kit to add a little message.

For my second box I chose one of the Maggie Holmes “Chasing Dreams” pattern papers that were included in the main kit and after I added the same decorations, I used the gold glitter thickers (also from the main kit,) and the ombre teal thickers (from the Embellishment kit) to write my message.

You can really use your thickers in any project you are working on. Just dive into your stash and find the colors and fonts that match and use up those gorgeous alpha stickers.
